Prescriptions are available from this practice. You may obtain relevant Veterinary medicinal products from your Veterinary surgeon or ask for a written prescription and obtain these medicines from another Veterinary surgeon or pharmacy.
Your Veterinary surgeon may prescribe relevant medicinal products only following a clinical assessment of an animal under their care. A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an in-patient or immediate treatment is necessary.
You will be informed, on request, of the price of any medicine that may be prescribed for your animal. The general policy of this practice is to re-assess an animal requiring repeat prescriptions for supplies of relevant Veterinary medicinal products every 6 months, but this may vary with individual cases.
Please allow 24 hours for completion of written prescriptions.
The standard charges from January 2021 are as follows:
- Written prescription fee = £22.11
- Subsequent written prescription (for additional medicines prescribed at the same time) fee = £16.61
- Prescription review / health check fee = £38.50
Information regarding safe use, contra-indications etc... can be found on the website printed on the medicine dispensing label or on the written prescription. If owners have no internet or would rather have a hard copy, we can provide one for them as requested.
